first family road trip

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

We took a tiring but wonderful road trip this past Friday to Tuesday, and introduced Owen to a ton of special family members and friends along the way.  He behaved so well - sleeping in strange places, being held by strangers, and being subjected to lots of time in the car seat.  He really took it all in stride and made a good first impression on a lot of people!  We relished the attention he received at his "meet the baby" party in Eldred (more details to come!), celebrated Margie and Terry's 40th wedding anniversary with the extended Norton/Bishop clan, met cousin Cory and her sweet Gia and Caterina (left the camera in the car...shoot!), spent the night at Great Gramma and Grampa's house and got spoiled with a delicious meal by Great Aunt Lisa and Uncle Tom, and took a short detour to Seneca Lake to meet the Peters clan (forgot the camera again...doh!).  It was no surprise that Owen slept nearly the entire 5.5 hour trip home on Tuesday.
Pit stop on Route 83 for a bite to eat (and maybe a bathroom break? We think we heard something.)
About halfway home to Mimi and Papa's in Eldred, PA
Seems the Keating family was prevalent in NW PA
Settling in at Mimi and Papa's on the breezy front porch
On the porch of the HoStaGeh Restaurant, celebrating Margie and Terry's 40th anniversary
Jenna and I practicing our fish faces at the fancy dinner
The first of many times Owen will probably get dressed up by his older girl cousins
Kate sings to Owen after a long day
Owen meets Great Gramma Ryan for the first time...love at first sight!

Snuggling with Great Grampa Ryan
I love Great Aunt Lisa!
Uncle Weed! (aka Great Uncle Tom)
Just reclining and catching some golf on tv
We have the greatest family! (plus, Kyle is tall!!)
Proud greats!
Loving the lake!
Heading home.  Owen's got a pretty sweet set-up.
